What microneedling does
Microneedling uses fine needles to create controlled punctures in the skin. It may improve the appearance of some scars and wrinkles. The device, treatment depth and your skin’s condition affect whether it is suitable. Active acne needs a different assessment from marks or scars left after breakouts.
Standard microneedling or radiofrequency?

Preparation and recovery
Tell your provider about current skin products, recent procedures, medicines and a history of pigment changes or scarring. Redness, irritation and bleeding can occur. Infection, scarring and lasting discoloration are possible. Your provider should explain when to resume skin products, makeup and sun exposure.
Planning sessions and cost
Bring photographs of the concerns you want to discuss and explain your recovery-time constraints. Ask for the recommended appointment schedule and the full cost before starting. A series may be discussed, but a preset number of visits cannot guarantee a particular result.
